Cape Foodie Tour


Explore the food & wine culture of the scenic Cape. A foodie tour that journeys from the Mother city through cultural Stellenbosch to Franschhoek, the gourmet capital of SA. We venture through vineyards and fruit farms sampling vintage wines, brandy, cheeses and chocolate and soak up the culture and stories that have shaped this beautiful land. No visit to Cape Town would be complete without a coastal trip along the breathtaking peninsula, which showcases the region’s stunning natural beauty (think fragrant fynbos, towering cliffs and heavenly beaches). View numerous bucket list-worthy attractions along the shoreline, including Cape Point (the most southwesterly tip of Africa), Chapman’s Peak Drive, the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and all the quaint beaches in between .

Following a morning of sightseeing we do lunch at  The Test Kitchen (, run by local personality chef Luke Dale Roberts. The eatery’s funky setting in a converted biscuit mill and  its cuisine is out of this world.  Pop into the Diamond Works Institute on the way home, for a sparkling show on diamond cutting.


Cable car trip up Table Mountain for breathtaking views , then on to cafe Haas (, here you can get your hands on Kopi Luwak beans (the ones eaten and expelled by the civet, and said to produce fabulously flavoursome coffee). After lunch take a beautiful walk through the historic city center with art galleries, museums, the Company Gardens and the biggest African craft market in Greenmarket Square.


This morning we visit the the great botanical gardens of Kirstenbosch (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Check into a 4* luxury guesthouse in Simonstown before heading over to The Flagship to be met by Bruce Robertson. Over the next couple of hours we enjoy a 5 course wine-paired, gourmet lunch. Evening at leisure enjoying the quaint naval base town.

 Day 5

Explore the interesting little town steeped in nautical history and the Penguin Colony at Boulders beach. We take a scenic drive along False Bay to picnic under the giant camphor trees at the legendary Vergelen Wine Estate, then off to Stellenbosch for wine, culture & cuisine. Check into a 4* Guest House before joining a Cape Malay Cooking Class mastering one or two traditional Cape Malay dishes.

Day 6

Stroll through the charming old town on a Classic Cape Cuisine walk, sampling local delicacies such as biltong before visiting the scenic Wine lands for a guided tour of some of our award winning wine estates. A traditional lunch platter will be enjoyed at the oldest hotel in South Africa before popping over to a 5* hotel for the “grand finale” of traditional desserts with a tea tasting. This afternoon we check in to a wine estate, set in one of the most beautiful valleys in the region. Enjoy some leisure time.


This morning we pay a visit to the local township, Kayamandi (in Xhosa it means “Home sweet home”) where our local Guide Thembi will be take us on a Kayamandi Walking journey. We’ll meet resident entrepreneurs and talented artists, exciting community development projects and stop off at a Spaza-shop for a sip of corn-based Mageu – one of Madiba’s favourites! Eat an authentic lunch in a traditional Xhosa home. Evening at leisure.

 DAY 8

Franschhoek, is our destination today, the food & wine heartland of the country – enchanting ,arty & historical. Highlighted by an experience at La Motte Wine Estate , rich in architecture, art and delicious wines. We dine in their famous Pierneef A’LaMotte restaurant for an unforgettable traditional South African flavour experience. Apart from housing the Pierneef Museum, the estate is rich in monuments such as the oldest operating mill (for the bread baked in the restaurants kitchen.) as well as floriculture and sculptures.


Visit Paarl for the spice route– brandy & biltong tasting, liqueur & chocolate, wine & charcuterie, wine & chocolate, wine & olives and of course cheese & wine. Fascinating farmland & farm stalls set amongst massive granite formations with ostriches & butterflies in between.

Day 10

Today we head for the wild west coast to the Strandloper (Beachwalker) , an open air restaurant situated on the water’s edge of the magnificent Langebaan Lagoon. Over the next 3-4 hrs we feast on traditional Westcoast Seafood such as potjie, angel fish, snoek, bredie and mussels. We leave at the end of the day to check into a 4 * star  Hotel for our last night in the Cape.
