This is our Overberg Wine Walk 3 night option. We offer 2, 3 and 4 night Wine Walks with a generic agenda that we present as a basic idea of what we offer. However, invariably, as was the case with this one, things were changed and modified to suit the particular client request. Our Wine Walks are quite varied, we visit different wine farms and wine estates to suit the occasion and the season of the year. Where meals form part of the trip, we vary the venues to suit, always modifying and changing with the growing popularity of the newly discovered Hemel en Aarde Wine Valley.

DAY 1
Check in to your 4-star cottage on the beautiful High Season farm in the heart of the Hemel & Aarde Valley, within walking distance of many of the valleys award winning wine estates. Check in from 13:00
Time to be confirmed: Transfer to the top of Rotary Way for a 2 km downhill walk though aromatic mountain fynbos to sample the fruit of Hamilton Russell‘s Estate vineyard. Hamilton Russell is one of the most southerly wine Estates in Africa and pioneered viticulture & winemaking in the Hemel & Aarde Valley. Beside the dam we enjoy a picnic under the trees while sampling the valleys best. (Distance 2 km)
From the wine estate the group will be transferred back to the farm for a relaxing evening and dinner under the stars.

DAY 2
Enjoy a hearty farm breakfast before stretching your legs on one of the most scenic walking routes in the valley. Walk along the Kleinrivier Mountainside to La Vierge Winery, then to Bosman Family Winery where we visit the Frame House for a wine tasting. Continuing on we stroll through horse farms, orchards and vineyards to Sumaridge Wine Estate for a wine tasting while enjoying their sumptuous lunch platters. Transfer to our next overnight stop. The Hemel en Aarde Cottages nestle alongside the Babylonstoren Mountain range (Distance 10km)

DAY 3
After breakfast the trail takes us up the valley in the shadow of the Babylonstoren Mountain range. We visit the vineyards of Ataraxia, the highest positioned winery in the valley and stop off for a tasting before descending to cross over to the Kleinrivier mountainside, hiking through olive trees and single tracks. Reaching the tasting room of Spookfontein we relax for lunch in their marvellous boutique restaurant. (Distance 11 km)
