OVERBERG WINE WALKS
We have a few different wine walk options for you to choose from depending on how much time you have available. You can select from, 2 night, 3 night, and 4 night options, or we can tailor something to suit your specific needs.
Below we have a generic itinerary to give you an idea of what we offer, and at the end we have links to our 2, 3 and 4 night options.
The First Day
On day 1 of your overberg wine walk, check in to your 4-star cottage on a beautiful farm in the Hemel & Aarde Valley within walking distance of many of the valleys award winning wine estates. Then a short transfer takes us up Rotary Way Drive for spectacular views of Walker Bay and the Hemel & Aarde Valley.
The first walk is a scenic, mostly downhill & easy walk from the top of Rotary Way though aromatic mountain fynbos to sample the fruit of Hamilton Russell‘s Estate vineyard. Hamilton Russell is one of the most southerly wine Estates in Africa, and pioneered viticulture & wine-making in the Hemel & Aarde Valley.
Overberg Wine Hike
Take a very leisurely stroll to Bouchard Finlayson, globally acclaimed for producing the best Pinot Noir in South Africa as well as exceptional Chardonnays’ & Sauvignon Blancs. The deli platter will not disappoint as you enjoy the beautiful garden setting. (Distance 5 km)
From Bouchard Finlayson you will be transferred back to the farm for a relaxing evening and a light diner.

DAY 2
Start the day with a hearty farm breakfast before stretching your legs on one of the most scenic walking routes in the valley. We start our walk through the vineyards of Hasher Family Estate 104 acres nestling within 2 imposing mountain ranges in the Upper Hemel & Aarde Valley. The trail winds along country roads and single tracks through horse stud and berry farm’s with some magnificent mountain scenery en route to Moggs Country Restaurant. We make our way along country roads and fynbos fields to our overnight stop. (Distance 10 km)

Overberg Wine Walks
On DAY 3
Enjoy breakfast before we follow a track skirting the base of the fynbos lined mountain to Newton-Johnson vineyards. This route takes us through the vineyards to La Vierge Winery and downhill to the De Bos dam. The lovely farmlands and fynbos ramble takes us to the tasting room of Sumaridge for a wine tasting and magnificent platter. A short walk takes us back up the valley to Newton Johnson to sample their wine before we make our way to the farm accommodation. (Distance 9.5 km)
