Wine Whale Walk
This Wine Whale Walk offer is totally flexible regarding numbers and catering options. Anything from 2 to 12 or more persons, and offers a fully catered or self-catered option. The cost per person decreases dramatically with group size. The husband and wife team Ralph and Gill are local Hermanus Overberg residents, FGASA qualified nature, marine and tourism guides. So you will be in great hands when it comes to local knowledge and the necessary qualifications to make your holiday special.
The Wine Whale Walk is designed for nature lovers that enjoy walking and hiking in the outdoors. The Hermanus and Walker Bay area offers about 30 kilometers of pristine cliff and beach walking and the awesome Fernkloof and Kogelberg mountain reserves. The Wine Whale Walk incorporates manageable sections on each day’s walk to see the best of the Fynbos, beach, cliffs and the whales.
The Wine Whale Walk concept was born out of frustration regarding the restrictions and limited availability of Cape Natures De Hoop Whale Trail. Having done 15 Whale Trail Hikes between us since 2005, Ralph and I have developed a trail that doesn’t require booking 12 months ahead, it can accommodate from 2 people to larger groups and does not have an age limit. As with Cape Natures De Hoop trail, this Whale Trail Wine Walk is not only limited to the whale season or group size. This trail can be done any time of year for a great outdoor hiking or walking experience.
The accommodation offered is in four star country cottages very secluded and private.Only ten minutes from the attractions of Hermanus town and the many restaurants and coffee shops lining the spectacular ‘wheelchair friendly’ cliff path and view of Walker Bay and Danger Point.
