Slackpacking Vine to Beach
After the wine walks in the beautiful Hemel en Aarde valley we hike up the old ‘Baboon Path’ to the summit of Aasvolekop at 824 m AMS above mean sea level. This is where we have lunch and freshly brewed coffee or tea with spectacular views of the Hemel en Aarde valley to the north, Maanskynkop and Klein Rivier lagoon to the east. Looking south we have a view of Walker Bay and the pristine Grotto blue flag beach. This also gives us a view of the next days walk which takes us to ‘Sopiesklip.’ From Aasvolekop we descend through Fernkloof reserve, along the ‘pipe track’ into Voelklip and our hotel destination for the night.
